Drunk Driving Information
When I was 17 years old I was a victim of a drunk
driver. I was hit head-on by a drunk driver. The top part of my body was thrown
through the front window. My nose and part of my ear were torn off by the metal
piece between the front window and side window. It was a very terrible
experience. I was rushed to the hospital and thankfully a plastic surgeon
replaced my nose and ear but I had terrible problems with breathing, for years,
until I went back to the hospital, and a surgeon re-broke my nose and repaired
it. I have had scares all my life and my teenage years were affected.
My experience made we aware that alcohol, like
cigarette smoke, has second had effects. The person drinking thinks he has the
right and it's a personal thing, but I became a victim of a drinker when he got
into his car and hurt me. I spoke for Mothers Against Drunk Driving for many
years hoping to share the message "Don't Drink and Drive", until I
realized there was a more important message, "Don't Drink At All."
Those who choose this safe life style, save themselves and anyone who may be
their innocent victim.
